INSIGHTS FROM THE TALKSHOW SESSION

In the talk show that took place, the speakers provided deep insights:

  1. 1. Iis Harmoko (BMKG), highlighted the importance of accurate and up-to-date data in understanding climate change trends, especially in Central Java. This data is the basis for determining appropriate mitigation and adaptation measures, especially in anticipating extreme weather and its impacts.
  2. 2. Laras Zita (Tomoro Labs) emphasized how technology, such as AI and data analytics, can be used to process climate data into something more understandable and actionable. She also highlighted the role of cross-sector collaboration - between technology, creativity, and education - as a major force to create positive impact.
  3. 3. Fika Rofiudin Izza (KOPHI Central Java) underlined the role of youth as agents of change. She said that community-based education, packaged in interesting forms such as creative campaigns, has great potential to build public awareness about environmental issues.

FOCUS GROUP DISCUSSION (FGD)

After the talk show, participants were divided into several groups in a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) session. Leolit Games joined the group that discussed how technology-based interactive media can be an effective educational tool, especially for the younger generation. The results of Leolit Games' group discussion resulted in a solution:

  1. 1. Developing Educational Games Based on BMKG Data, Games are the most attractive media for Gen Z and Gen Alpha. With the integration of data from BMKG that has been processed into an interactive format, this game can educate players about climate change, extreme weather patterns, and environmental impacts in depth but still fun.
  2. 2. Education with Gamification Approach, to encourage real action, gamification such as challenges, achievements, or leaderboards can be utilized.

Leolit's discussions with BMKG, KOPHI, and Tomoro Labs opened up opportunities for future collaboration to develop technology-based projects that can answer environmental challenges.

With cross-sector collaboration, Leolit Games is optimistic that the creative industry, including games, can play a big role in addressing climate challenges. Stay tuned for the next innovative step from Leolit Games!🤗
